Why the English Premier League is so popular is really a bit of a mystery. For those living in the country, ticket and merchandise prices are so excessive that only a minority can get to the games and actually afford to enjoy themselves while there. The number of foreigners in the league is so huge that if this was any other professional there would be instant condemnation. The same three or fours clubs tend to win everything and the lack of respect shown towards officials week in week out is anything but impressive.

The English Premiership; a place where mediocre soccer players income tax amounts to more than Average Joe earns in a year. Salaries in the Premiership have spiralled out of control in recent years, following a saga of TV deals with different channels battling for the rights to show live games. English football has never been richer than it is today and the injection of money has led to many salary ceilings being broken and contracts being renewed as clubs strive to hang on to their demanding players.

England's Most Famous Football Players

A number of great players have been lucky enough to play for the England national team. It is quite unfortunate that some of the best players did not find their way to fame like those of the present day due to the lack of mass media that has only developed fully in the last few decades.
Being from the UK, it is quite difficult to suggest which players are famous on a global level. I know for fact that I could name perhaps four American Football players (all of which play for the Patriots) so this may well be the same case for other nations who are attempting to name English soccer players. Nonetheless, I will have a go at naming who I think are the most famous players to wear the Three Lions' on their shirt.
